I watch and read a lot of news. I probably spend ten hours a day consuming various forms of media and the common denominator I have discovered is they like to preach fear, disaster and doom. Take the Gabby Petito case for example. People go missing every day. Couples fight every day. Why did the media jump aboard this particular story? Simple. She was pretty and white. If she was fat with a chicken foot coming out of her head no one would pay attention. The media is a business. The media wants to make money and for that very reason their journalistic integrity is compromised.

I did morning radio for twenty-one years. I was on various music stations but I like to talk and entertain so I rarely played any music. Technically I was part of the “media” so I know a lot that goes on behind the scenes. I still have many friends in the media and they are good journalists working for a compromised company. You dare question anything the bosses in corporate media say and you will be blackballed from the industry. I’ve seen it happen many times to many people that are now selling real estate. The pressure to deliver ratings is there every day twenty-four hours a day. Precision, integrity and accuracy do NOT matter. Good ratings mean higher advertising costs and more cash flow and that is all that matters.

So NOW we have a new variant for the Chinese Virus called Omicron. It’s HIGHLY transmissible. Oh no!! I better stick my head in my mattress and order from Grub Hub for the next six months. We had “fourteen days to flatten the curve.” We have three different vaccines. Some come in two doses. All require boosters. New boosters are on the way. People vaccinated are still wearing masks. You are a HERO as a health care worker in 2020. You will be fired in 2021 unless you get the jab. There is a vaccine mandate! Now the mandate is on hold because it’s tied up in court as unconstitutional (which it is). I’m not trying to make this about the vaccine. Do what ya want. That’s called free will. I use the vaccine as an example of how the story is constantly changing with the media. They are being used for propaganda and are so caught up in satisfying Wall Street they don’t give a damn about accuracy or the truth. They want clicks and tune-ins. I’ve been in those meetings. I’ve heard the marching orders and I can talk about them now because I don’t have a horse in this race anymore. Finding the truth requires time. You have to do the research on your own. Gather as much data as you can and THEN decide. If not then you are just another sheep in the herd.

I didn’t think it would happen to me but it did. I’m talking about a mental overload I have experienced over the past three months. I backed away from this blog. I shut down my podcast back in March. Social terrorist organizations like Black Lives Matter have taken over our streets when they should be thrown in jail. People hate each other based on their individual decision to get a vaccine for the Chinese Virus. Think abut that. People will not like you if you choose to express your right of FREEDOM? The media does NOT report the truth. The media wants to increase the division and hate in this country because it “looks pretty cool on TV.” The government is getting bigger and at the same time taking away more and more of your Constitutional rights. I wouldn’t be surprised if two years from now there would be twenty Supreme Court Justices and we all will be speaking Chinese. Slow Joe calls this a “time of healing.” We are NOT healing. We are burning out of control like a California wildfire and I don’t see an end to this at all.

I’m pretty active on Facebook. I enjoy keeping in touch with all my friends across the country and respectfully discussing current events. Facebook doesn’t like people that don’t drink from their Kool-Aid fountain. I was thrown in Facebook jail AGAIN yesterday. This time it’s for thirty days. I must have posted something extremely offensive and vulgar, right? It had to be something political. It probably was something about the recent shootings and riots. It was nothing like that. It was just a strange news story about two French men that injected each other’s penis with a cream that was supposed to increase girth. I’m not kidding. This HORRIBLE story can be viewed HERE. I know facebook is a private forum but they are actually CENSORING THE NEWS!!! Slow Joe said over a week ago that “No amendment is protected.” If whoever that old guy is in Washington that thinks he is running the country doesn’t have an ounce of respect for the United States Constitution then why should anyone else?

I spent my entire radio career saying exactly what was on my mind and how I felt. You can’t do that anymore. People live in fear. People don’t want to “offend” anyone. I’m gonna be fifty-seven pretty soon. I’m not playing by those rules. When I grew up I drank water out of the garden hose. I was taught to say “please”, “thank-you”, and “you’re welcome.” I obeyed my parents and if I got out of line I got hit with a wooden spoon. That doesn’t happen today so don’t expect me to go away quietly. I actually decided to restructure and relaunch my podcast later next month. No one can tell you what to say and what to believe when you have your own podcast or blog. I hope others do the same regardless of what they think and believe. This country was built upon misfits and differences of opinion. The government is trying to eliminate the differences and make us “fall in line” with their agenda. Now is NOT the time for censorship. Something has happened to me within the past year……I just don’t give a shit anymore.  Now don’t assume that I don’t care because that is totally different.  I think the greatest strength one can have is to admit and address their greatest weakness.  Looking back at my mistakes in life (and I have made more than most people) I realize that the majority of them were made because I actually gave a shit about what people thought of me (that and too many shots).

When you give a shit you tend to get angry with people that don’t agree with you or question what you say.  Getting dropped as a friend on Facebook is a great example.  There are people out there that react to this action like a loved one was injured in a car crash.  Telemarketers are another great example.  I used to have a meltdown when they would call even though I registered on the “do not call list” (it’s run by our government so why would you expect it to be effective?).  I now look forward to these calls and using my creativity and mind to frustrate them to the point that they raise their voice and/or hang up.  Then I laugh like Vincent Price at the end of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

So what do I care about?  My mother, my faith in God, kindness, empathy, unselfishness, being polite, respecting your elders, TV and cold beer to name a few.  I’m not married, I don’t have kids, I don’t give a shit who ya vote for and I really don’t give a shit what ya made for dinner and posted on Facebook.  I used to have a terrible temper which leads to anger and usually then to yelling or screaming.  We all have done it but step back for a moment and think about when you witness others doing it.  It affects their credibility and even if they are correct they give the impression that they aren’t confident in their opinion.  If they did they would relish in the concept of getting others to, as my father used to say, scream and yell like a “raped ape.”

Now there are situations where you may not give a shit but they suddenly turn into a situation you care about.  A good example of this is those that text and drive.  If they happen to drive off a bridge, land in a canal and become an afternoon snack for an alligator I really don’t give a shit.  If they rear end an innocent party and that person ends up looking like they were arrested by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Department then I care.

Life is a strange, unpredictable and a stressful journey.  What you think matters in the moment usually will not matter in the future.  Want to know what really puts everything in perspective?  Bury a parent, a child or anyone you love.  We all are here for a reason and it’s not to have a big house, expensive car, eat at a fancy restaurant or have a three hundred dollar purse (My wallet cost twenty bucks and I think I have six bucks in it and three quarters in my pants…….which I never wear at home).  There ARE bad ideas in brainstorming (think Crystal Pepsi).  People that say “I want you to be honest” really mean “I want you to agree with me.”  I have learned that those that say that to you actually are insecure of their own beliefs and abilities.   Feel free to disagree with me but just know that I really don’t give a shit.

The 85th Academy Awards® will air live on Oscar® Sunday, February 24, 2013.The Oscar nominations were announced this morning.  I have OCD so I don’t watch a lot of movies because I can’t sit still so it really wasn’t a big deal to me until the media started fanning the flames of racism.  For only the second time in nearly two decades, the 20 Academy Awards acting nominations went to a group made up entirely of white actors and actresses.   Why even report that?

Here’s how I see it.  There are two types of people in this world:  good and bad.  There are different types of religions for you to choose to follow and what you choose to believe does not really matter….it’s what you DO that makes you either good or bad.

What if the roles were reversed and all the acting nominees were black?  I couldn’t care less.  To me that would mean that those were the best acting performances of the year.  Why does color have to come into it?  We will never get past racism until we look beyond the color of someone’s skin yet the media continues to fan the flames of the difference in color.

Let me illustrate the absurd by being absurd.  Take Affirmative Action for instance.  If I own a company and have ten openings I am going to hire the ten best people for the job.  I don’t care about color, I don’t care if ya show up to work with a parrot on your shoulder or if you come to work on a pogo stick.  Can you do the job?  End of story.  Imagine if Affirmative Action was enforced in the NBA.  Do you think a team would ever score fifty points in a game?

Why do we continue to try to make ourselves the same?  Difference is good.  It makes us examine a pattern of thinking that we may not have considered and in some cases we actually end up learning something.  Heaven forbid we actually do something like that.

out of workI haven’t worked since January of 2011 and I truly am thankful.  I have learned so much.  I am a workaholic by nature so it forced me to reinvent myself.  I have become a social media freak.  This truly is the way people will market and make money in the future.  Embrace it or be left behind.

I have created my own show prep site.  I have taken my late father’s passion of being an ex cop and being disgusted by police brutality and corruption and made it a web site.  I have polished my talk radio skills by establishing an internet radio show.   I have been able to spend a lot of time with my mother and she truly is an amazing human being.  I’m about to launch a new business in the next two weeks.   Things happen for a reason.

I truly was miserable in my last year of working.  I had compromised who I was and what I truly believe.  I want to make a difference.  I care about people.  I think these are turbulent times and I firmly believe that we can all learn something new each day by interacting with others.

I’m opinionated.  I know that.  I also am very open to different views  because we need to stop and listen to each other as it’s clear that no one has this “figured all out.”  Things in the past that I would dismiss I now stop and analyze.

I want this world to be a nicer place.  I want to hear “please” and “thank you.”  I want people to smile.  I think holding the door open for someone is natural.  I want to make a difference.

I’ve made mistakes and I think we all do on a daily basis.  A mistake really is an opportunity to learn and grow.  I needed to stop, listen, look around, and truly take inventory of what happens around me.  I vehemently believe that radio is a great opportunity to bond with the listener.  We are all in this together.  We all have our struggles.  We all can learn from each other.  Being caller “number nine” or hearing the latest Katy Perry song has nothing to do with this.

I used to never flinch on dropping $150 on a dinner.  Now I know when chicken breasts are on sale at my local grocery store.  I am ready for the next stage in life and my career.  I hate to say it…but I think I have finally grown up.
