There is a lot of pressure on folks that are single around the holidays. Once you are over the age of thirty and ya still show up to the family gathering without a partner Uncle Fred and Aunt Ester will be talking about you as soon as ya leave to return home with a tin of cookies. 2020 might be different since we all have seemed to adopt this solitude mentality but I have to admit the decision to not date has it’s benefits.
I was always co-dependent. I had a lot of girlfriends. I had five fiancés. Obviously I didn’t have a problem with commitment. My friends called me “The Diamond Man.” I actually married two of them. Meeting women was never a problem; staying in a relationship was. My last relationship ended October 23, 2011. I remember the Harley ride home when I said I was gonna make a change. I was going to go at least one year without going on a date. I was going to concentrate on fixing myself. Funny thing happened during that year. I liked it so much that I have never turned back.
In the past nine years I have made numerous improvements in my life. I have focused on my therapy and have addressed my narcissism. I have become an excellent cook and I have found strength in my faith. I have returned to my place of birth in preparation for the completion of the Circle of Life. Pretty impressive, huh? Those are the type of changes that sell a lot of books so let me share you some of the other benefits of being a single guy. If you see a strawberry daiquiri on your bar bill ya know it’s not yours. You’ll never find yourself sitting on the couch on a Saturday afternoon with a bowl of Haagen Das watching a Lori Laughlin movie. Don’t laugh….that painful memory still triggers a form of PTSMD. I actually will suffer a slight convulsion when I ponder what “My List” on NETFLIX would look like if I had a female partner.
I don’t have to worry what I am wearing. I actually have one t-shirt for each day of the week. I don’t even bother putting clothes away I just hang it in the laundry room and get dressed in front of the ironing board. The closest I got to having someone hit on my girl was when a drunk guy spilled his Corona on my hand. The bartender solved the problem with a towel and a free drink. That never happened before…..I’m used to the police showing up and having to arrange for a ride home. You’ll find THOSE stories in the book I’ll publish once Mother is at peace. Sure it gets lonely at times. I sometimes get jealous seeing a couple together laughing and having a good time. I find it ironic that I finally have become a person that has something to offer yet here I am alone. That’s usually when a moment of levity happens. I’ll call a buddy to come over and watch the Browns game and he’ll say he would but he promised his wife he’d put up the Christmas lights before taking her to the apple farm. That’s when I pause, take it all in and exhale. It’s the end of 2020. Truly the perfect time to be alone. 🦾🦾🦾

Well I don’t think anyone of us thought this would happen. We have a complete shit show on our hands. How did this happen? No matter what the outcome of this election…..no matter who is declared “the winner”….this is inexcusable for ALL Americans. I have said for a long time that our government is polluted with corruption. Remember the disaster of the Election 2000. That was twenty years ago. We all realized that this was an election like no other. This country is on the brink of a Civil War. Everyone is pointing the finger of blame at somebody else. The very last thing we needed as a country was an election shadowed in doubt….and that is EXACTLY what we have.
We as a nation, do not deserve this. Kerosene has been thrown on the bonfire. I do not hide my intense hatred for our government. What exactly do they do that doesn’t end up needing to be flushed? The bigger the government gets the more problems we have. It’s always been that way and now we have a huge problem on our hands. Turn down the sound of your television and you can hear the rest of the world laughing at us. There are states in this election that had more votes than registered voters. Now we have the perfect storm.
The country needed to be united. Now the problem is worse. The shit show that is 2020 continues. Lawsuits will be filed in many states. People needed to calm down. People are now more pissed off than ever before. I’m not even a Republican. I am a Libertarian. The Patriots have been quiet this summer. They sat back and watched the social terrorist organizations that is ANTIFA and BLM assault citizens and the police. They watched these urine bags burn buildings, take bottles of Hennessy and washing machines and topple statues. I can assure you that they won’t sit back and be quiet if they believe the Constitution was attacked and the Presidency was stolen. I don’t know what happened. I just know that this battered and bruised nation did not deserve this and we have a very severe problem on our hands. Thank you government for that.

Last Friday was very emotional for anyone that has a heart and a conscious. It was the nineteenth anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center by Islamic terrorists. One of my most vivid memories of that time was actually September 12, 2001 and beyond. No one cared about what color your skin was or what God you worshiped. There was one race….the human race. People were flying American flags outside their cars. Today there are those that choose to burn and stomp on that very same flag. The police and fire departments across the nation were hailed as heroes. Today they are randomly attacked by members of Black Live Matter and Antifa. I’m tired of the disrespect and rioting and vandalism. Our country has been taken over from within by various social terrorist organizations. There comes a time when people have had enough and they start to fight back to protect their family and property. That time is now.
It’s not going to get any better until we get tough. This past weekend two Los Angeles police officers were shot in the face for doing nothing but protecting citizens of their city. These thugs and animals then proceeded to block the entry of the emergency vehicles to the local hospital while yelling “We hope they die.” This is not “protesting.” It’s the deepest level of barbaric behavior that has no place in a civilized society.
How many more buildings will be set on fire? How many more stores will be destroyed? How many more members of the Police will be injured during these senseless criminal activities? What we allow we teach. It’s time for this parade of fools to end. Let’s take back our country. Let’s really show others that we never forgot!!
If you’re like me….you’re still in a bit of shock after watching Anderson Cooper trying to swat away a long, slender yellow balloon with his well manicured hands being covered by a pair of leather gloves. I am strong. I am a Patriot. I will recover. I will face the challenges of a New Year and I offer three things I encourage you to do in YOUR New Year. I am not a smart man. I am one who has failed many times. It is from these failures that I offer the following advice:
TELL PEOPLE HOW YA FEEL AND NOT WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR
Probably the best piece of advice I can give anyone. We aren’t trying to win an election. We aren’t trying to make friends. We must embrace our feelings. We must be honest. It’s the ONLY way we can grow and learn.
SEE A PIECE OF SHIT IN THE ROAD…WALK AROUND IT AND NOT THROUGH IT
My late grandfather Czekalinski actually gave me this advice one summer afternoon while we were in a canoe in Hinkley, Ohio fishing for catfish and bluegill. We didn’t catch any fish but I did catch a golden piece of advice. There is a reason shit stinks. It’s to warn ya it’s coming so you can avoid it. Life is shitty at times. You’ll start to smell it coming. Alter your path and stay away from the approaching smell.
WHEN IN DOUBT….ALWAYS GO FOR THE GIRL WITH THE PONYTAIL COMING OUT OF THE BACK OF HER BASEBALL HAT
There’s a reason these ladies are always with a man at the bar. Simple supply and demand. The demand is high…..supply is low. See her out and alone don’t waste any time. Don’t let her get away. She truly is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Every day is a gift. Every day is an opportunity. We have a New Year. We have a new beginning. Will you join me this year in making it your mission to make it count? Happy New Year my friends.
Knowledge is power. The more you learn the more you can protect yourself. With the 2020 election looming, there has never been a time where lack of knowledge is threatening your rights as a citizen of this great country.
When the government becomes involved it historically leads to failure. Look at Medicare, Social Security and the IRS as examples. Simply stated: less government means more freedom. The IRS is a joke. They need to be eliminated and a flat tax installed. The more cooks in the kitchen only leads to chaos and confusion.
Those that are put in a position of power more often than not will fall victim to greed and that leads to corruption. We see it every day in politics, law enforcement, government and the list goes on. We need to stand up and take responsibility for our rights and freedom. People will take advantage of you based on the fact that you don’t understand your rights. Case in point: nothing good ever comes from certified mail. Do not ever sign for this and be aware of your rights. Companies are constantly trying to steal your personal information. Use the internet to benefit yourself and be aware that those that are corrupt will attempt to use the internet against you.
Critics will say I live a life in paranoia. I can only respond to that based upon personal experience. I have been used, lied to and taken advantage of in the past. Those scars only build my knowledge and ability to not repeat previous mistakes. There is a reason I chose to distance myself from people and the general society; true friends that have your best interests in mind are rare and you need to keep those people close. Quality always will win over quantity. I firmly believe that when this journey of live is over we will be judged upon our actions and decisions. Are you ready for that day?
